A machine restart is needed if the program crashes or the light turns off in the apartment. Therefore, you need to know how to restart the washing machine correctly and without harm to it.
How correct is the reboot and doesn’t the restart cause a break? This question worries many owners of washing machines.
Reasons to restart
Important! Please note that in this article the term “reboot” will only mean restarting the CMA program (washing mode).
So, you have to restart the machine for a number of reasons:
- If an object fell out of your pocket (or a button comes off, a bead has fallen off). To avoid damage to the cuff and clogging of the drainage system, urgently stop the machine and restart the program.
- If you need to report forgotten linen.
- If you need to change the mode.
- If the program freezes. The machine does not respond to user commands (button presses), does not erase or does not wring. If this is not a breakdown, then a reboot will help.
- Often you have to restart the AGR due to a power outage. Many modern models have an automatic restart for such a case, but some can not do without a manual restart.
How to restart the machine: a quick guide
Before restarting the washing machine, take a look at the symbols and buttons on the control unit. Find the RESET button to reload the program. If there is no button, press the key that launches the washing mode.
Important! Do not confuse the mode start button with the CMA shutdown button!
Before you press the buttons, look in the user manual - some models of washing machines reboot in their own way.
The restart of the washing machine is as follows:
- Hold the program start button for 3-5 seconds.
- Wait until the wash is finished - some machines will first drain the water before stopping.
- Choose a different mode.
- If necessary, fill the cuvette with powder or other detergent.
- Press the START button.
If you need to access the drum during washing in order to add or postpone the laundry, you must drain the water before restarting (in front-loading machines). Learn how to restart the machine if you need to report or ship excess laundry:
- Stop the machine by holding the program start button for a few seconds.
- Drain the water in any way convenient for you: through the emergency hose (located near the water drain filter) or the drain filter.
- The condition for successful and quick drainage of water: to start spinning with the pre-selected “No spin” function. The washing machine will drain all the water in 2 minutes, end the mode, unlock the hatch.
If you decide to drain the water yourself, then turn off the washer by pressing the "ON" button, and then remove the plug from the outlet. Within 5 or 10 minutes, the hatch will release the lock. Remove or report items and continue washing.
Attention! Do not pull out the plug without unplugging the machine. This will lead to blocking, provoking breakdowns and malfunctions in the operation of the control unit - such repairs will “fly into a penny”.
If the power is off
When the lights were suddenly turned off, the first thing to do was to disconnect the AGR from the mains. It is necessary to remove the cord so that the washing machine does not suffer from a sudden voltage drop.
Turn on the machine when the power resumes. If the program is not reset in auto mode, then the machine will continue to wash itself.
Sometimes this does not happen, the machine turns on, drains the water and stops washing. In this case, the reboot is only to re-enable the desired mode.
Internal failure
Wondering how to restart the washing machine if a software failure occurs? First, understand that this is a software problem, not a mechanical one. In the first case, the control panel is locked, and the buttons do not respond to pressing. Try disconnecting the CM from the power supply so that the control unit reboots.
Important! You cannot restart too often. Especially if the failure is accompanied by an error code on the display or a combination of flashing lights. Perhaps your machine needs a repair, not a reboot.
