Does your Atlas washing machine make a noise, buzz and rattle? Does sound at high revs sound like an airplane rumble on takeoff? This indicates wear on the drum bearing.
The bearing can withstand heavy loads, so it wears out over time or under the influence of external factors. We will tell you how to remove and replace the bearing in the CMA Atlant yourself. Follow our recommendations and you will succeed.
Symptoms of a Problem
How to determine the failure of a bearing at home? The first and main symptom is increased noise during the operation of the washer. Also, if you shake the drum by hand, you will notice a backlash - the drum shifts upward from the tank. And if you twist it with your hand, it rotates unevenly.
At the first sign of a malfunction, you should immediately start replacing the bearing in the Atlant washing machine. This is a breakdown that requires immediate repair.
Why is it dangerous to delay bearing repairs? When they are erased, the cross of the drum suffers, and the tank may be damaged due to the uneven oscillation of the drum. As a result, repairs will cost many times more.
Preparatory work before the repair of the Atlant machine
What tool will you need:
- screwdrivers: straight, slotted;
- Wrenches: Sockets, spanners 12-19 mm;
- chisel, hammer;
- WD-40;
- interchangeable bearings, as well as oil seals - buy taking into account the make and model of CM;
- grease;
- sealant.
Unplug the washing machine. Turn off the water and prepare a container for draining. Having unscrewed the inlet hose from the SM housing, drain the remaining water, do the same with the drain filter. It is located behind the hatch, at the bottom of the front panel. Open the hatch and unscrew the filter.
Having moved the washing machine away from the wall, so that it is convenient to move around, get to work.
The order of work in the Atlant washing machine
Do-it-yourself bearing replacement. The task is facilitated by the fact that in these machines the tank is taken out through the top, so you do not have to remove the front cover.
- Open the hatch door.
- Using a slotted screwdriver, pry off the sealing rubber clamp and remove it.
- Wrap the cuff inside the drum.
- Unscrew the top panel by unscrewing two screws on the back.
- Remove the bar at the top by unscrewing the bolts.
- Turn off bolts of fixing of the top counterbalance of a tank. Put it aside.
- Pull out the dispensing tray by pressing the lock in the center and pulling it towards you.
- Using a screwdriver, unscrew the screws that secure the control panel.
- Mark or photograph the location of the wiring leading to the panel.
- Unclench all connectors and disconnect the wiring.
- Disconnect the pressure switch. To do this, remove the wires leading to it, then release the latches or remove the screws. Remove the appliance from the tank.
- Remove the powder receptacle with the intake valve. Remove the bolt on the rear panel, disconnect the nozzles from the receiver and set aside.
- It's time to remove the back cover. Unscrew the screws along the perimeter, set the cover aside.
- Pull the drive belt toward you and remove it from the pulley.
- Disconnect the wiring from the heater (heater) and the electric motor.
- Using socket wrenches, unscrew the bolts that hold the motor. There can be from three to four pieces.
- Swinging the motor back and forth, remove it from the housing.
- With wire cutters, bite the clamps of the wiring, which is fastened around the perimeter of the tank. Move it aside.
- Having laid the car on its side, get to the drain pipe.
- Unclench its collar and remove from a tank.
- Now unscrew the shock absorber bolts.
Now the tank hangs only on two springs from above. Remove the tank from the hooks and pull it out through the top of the body.
You are already close to getting and replacing the bearing in the Atlant washing machine.
Self-bearing replacement
Having laid the tank on a flat surface, proceed to disassemble - it is collapsible at Atlanta, so there is no need to saw it.
Now you will learn how to change bearings:
- Remove the front counterweight bolts, remove it.
- Pry off the inner collar of the cuff, remove it and rubber so as not to stain it during disassembly.
- Remove the screws holding the two halves of the tank. Remove the top.
- Turn the second part over.
- Remove the pulley. Try to unscrew the central bolt with a key - first fix the pulley so that it does not turn.
- If the bolt does not lend itself, sprinkle it with WD-40.
Next comes the drum. Gently hit the hub several times with a hammer and pull out the drum.
Using a chisel and hammer, knock out the inner and then the outer bearing. Beat carefully, evenly, only on the outer clip.
Before replacing, clean the seat. You can apply WD-40 so that all the dirt is wet.
Now you see what bearings are in the Atlant washing machine. If you have not purchased the parts in advance, you can do this in the online store, indicating the make and model of the AGR.
Proceed with the installation:
- Position the smaller bearing in the seat. So that he sits firmly in place, gently tap the outer clip with a hammer.
- Do the same with a large bearing.
- From above install an epiploon, having greased it with greasing.
You have completed the task. It remains to collect the tank, and after it the machine.
For reliability, lubricate the tank around the edges with sealant. Connect the halves, and then fasten with bolts.
